Why do you want to be a Mercy Missionary? My desire to become a mercy missionary is rooted in my want for carrying out the Lord’s will through my life. God put it on my heart to go serve him through mission work, and the mercy mission year is such a beautiful opportunity to carry that calling out. Serving the poor and homeless in Portland is a great example of what it means to be Catholic, truly live out the great commission, and embody the corporal works of mercy. Not only this, but the mission year is also a tangible way to live out the purpose of our creation, which is to know, love, and serve the Lord.

What hopes do you have for this year of mission? My hopes for this year are to grow in true Catholic fellowship, formation, and bring Christ’s light to those in need.
